Another Power over Ethernet end-span product comes to PLANET PoE solution. The FGSW-2612PVS offers 12 PoE power injector TP ports on a 24-Port web smart Fast Ethernet switch which offers a flexible choice of PLANET PoE switches.

Inherited from PLANET FGSW-2620PVS, the PLANET FGSW-2612PVS provides 24 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet ports and 2 fixed 10/100/1000Mbps ports (either Gigabit copper or SFP) which also combines the Power over Ethernet technology that be able to supply standard 48VDC PoE power on the first 12 of the 24 10/100Mbps TP ports. The 2 additional gigabit TP/Mini-GBIC interfaces can be optionally connected with 10/100/1000Base-TX cable, 100Base-FX, or 1000Base-SX/LX fiber-optic cables which distance can be extended from 100 meters (TP), 2 kilometers (Multi-mode, ST or SC), up to 70 kilometers (Single-mode, SC / WDM / SFP).

The switch is equipped with non-blocking 8.8Gbps backplane greatly simplify the tasks of upgrading your LAN to cater to increased bandwidth demands. The PoE, in-line power, following the standard IEEE802.3af, makes the switch able to power 24 PoE devices at the distance up to 100 meters through the 4-pair Cat 5/5e UTP wire.

For efficient management, the Web Smart Switch is equipped with console and Web interface and can be programmed for basic switch management functions, such as port speed configuration, Port Trunking, VLAN, Port Mirroring, QoS, bandwidth control, PoE power inject priority and Misc Configuration including IP, password settings.

The Switch provides port-based VLAN (including overlapping). The VLAN groups allowed on the switch will be maximally up to 26 for port-based VLAN. Via supporting port trunking, the Switch allows the operation of a high-speed trunk connecting to multiple ports. The Switch also provides seven groups of up to 4-ports for trunking, and it supports fail-over as well.
